Heya! I am one of the directors for Mason Invite, specifically leading the awards-marketing team. I am a senior at Mason High School and have been doing SciOly since 7th grade. I main engineering and inquiry events, like flight, ping pong parachute, and engineering cad. Most of my time is spent petting my cat and decimating Serena Tu in Minecraft. My favorite events include Codebusters (Nats 1st!), EngiCAD, WiDi, and Wright Stuff (but not heli that event is horrible). Outside of SciOly, I play tennis and build rockets!

It’s only a little pathetic because it was actually sourced from a sapphire mine, and so I got some really cool sapphires, rubies, and citrines! It holds as my favorite gift of all time. Timothy is a junior and has been doing Science Olympiad for six years. His favorite event is Chemistry Lab and some of his favorite memories come from funny moments in the lab, like burning plastic on a hot plate or watching teammates break glass things. He has also dabbled in balsa events (Bridge and Boomilever) before and is still traumatized by the sound of wood snapping. Outside of Science Olympiad, you can probably find Timothy listening to Prokofiev, hate-watching basketball or hanging out with his dog.

Yan-Ru is a junior from Wayzata High School who has been involved in Science Olympiad for the past three years. His favorite event is Chem Lab by far, and he also enjoys Forensics (when he doesn't accidentally spill acid on himself, that is). He has no clue why he is doing Protein Modeling, but he's going to try his best to make the test adequately difficult, perhaps inserting secret chemistry references. Besides Science Olympiad, Yan-Ru also enjoys hitting balls with rackets/paddles and gaining dopamine via hitting big red buzzer buttons.
